1. 5.11 Tactical RUSH 72 Rucking Backpack – Best Overall

5.11 Tactical Backpack ‚ Rush 72 2.0 ‚ Military Molle Pack, CCW and Laptop Compartment, 55 Liter, Large, Style 56565 ‚ Double Tap

Kicking off our list with one of the best military rucking backpacks. The 5.11 Rush 72 is one of the best tactical backpacks money can buy.

The 5.11 Tactical RUSH series is known for its mission-oriented highly organized rucking backpacks that are both comfortable and highly durable. 5.11’ tactical RUSH 72 lives up to the name of the series.

5.11 tactical RUSH 72 is the most extensive rucking backpack in the RUSH series. The rucksack boasts an enormous capacity of 55 liters, which gives you enough space to store all kinds of camping equipment such as food, electronic gear, camping tools, and more.

The tactical backpack is made from 1000 denier nylon, which offers an unrivaled level of sturdiness, durability, and long-term endurance. The fabric is also highly water repellent.

Another great feature of this bag is its MOLLE system compatibility, which significantly increases its overall capacity. With the right gear and food rations, you can have everything you need to survive for weeks with this backpack.

In addition to the MOLLE system, the bag offers several compartments and tool pouches for extra reliability. The backpack offers dual zippers to ensure its functionality.

Additionally, the rucksack features a hydration package compartment for maintaining hydration on the go. The backpack is also comfortable to carry due to its padded straps and durable buckles.

Despite its bombarding price tag, the bag isn’t going to be short of buyers anytime soon thanks to its exquisite features and superb adaptability.

5.11 also offers smaller variants of the Rush 72. The Rush 24 and 12 are also viable Rucksacks that can double as an everyday use backpack.

Pros

  • Huge backpack capacity offers plenty of room for everything
  • Highest quality 1000 denier nylon
  • Can double as an everyday use backpack
  • MOLLE System compatible
  • Can fit a 3L hydration bladder
  • Laptop compartment is perfect for a Ruck Plate

Cons

  • One of the more expensive tactical backpacks
  • Lacks an external frame

2. MT Military MOLLE 2 Large Rucksack – Best External Frame

MT Military MOLLE 2 Large Rucksack with Frame, Army Tactical Backpack, Multicam

Rucking has its origins in the military. Therefore it is not a surprise we are recommending a military surplus rucksack. This Military Molle 2 Rucksack assembly is the first pack we are recommending with an external frame.

Why is an external frame a key feature of a good rucksack? An external frame allows the weight to be distributed more evenly on the back. This means that whatever weight you decide to ruck, will be more comfortable during your hike.

External frame packs are perfect for individuals that are getting ready to enter the military and those that want to load more weight than a tactical backpack would be comfortable bearing.

This military surplus rucksack is MOLLE compatible. This means you can attach whatever you need to the rucksack assembly. Even though this sack does not come with a dedicated hydration bladder compartment, it is easy to attach any bladder system that is also MOLLE compliant such as a Source Tactical 3-Liter Hydration Pack.

Pros

  • Insane amount of capacity
  • Actual military surplus
  • External frame for optimal weight distribution
  • MOLLE system compatible
  • Great for long hikes and backpacking into the wilderness

Cons

  • Too large for everyday use
  • Hydration bladder pouch not included, but can be purchased separately
  • Expensive entry point

3. Military Surplus Rucksack Alice Pack – Best Old School Ruck

MT Military Medium Alice Pack Army Survival Combat Backpack ALICE Rucksack Olive Drab

ALICE or the All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment is the second external frame rucksack on this list. The ALICE Pack was one of the first load-carrying equipment assemblies that featured an external frame to which the rucksack itself was attached.

It entered service for the US army in 1973. This is the rucksack for enthusiasts that want that retro experience. The ALICE features an aluminum external frame and a large ruck. Though this pack is starting to be phased out, the ALICE is still an important piece of equipment.

This pack is more than enough to meet the requirements for anyone who wants to ruck for fitness or those that are getting ready for entrance into the military.

The ALICE shows its age in its lack of MOLLE compatibility as well as its lack of hydration compartment. However, the ALICE is one of the best rucksacks due to its radio compartment.

Located near the top of the pack is a compartment designed for radio equipment. This is an optimal spot to place a sandbag pill as shown in our DIY Ruck Weight Article. Keeping the weight near the top of a pack is the best way to ruck without injury.

Pros

  • Military Surplus
  • The OG external frame rucksack
  • Radio compartment is perfect for ruck weights
  • Excellent storage capacity
  • Dedicated rucksack

Cons

  • Not good as an everyday use backpack
  • Not MOLLE Compatible
  • No hydration bladder support

4. LA Police Gear Atlas 24 – BEST VALUE

LA Police Gear Atlas 24H MOLLE Tactical Backpack for Hiking, Rucksack, Bug Out, or Hunting-Coyote

LAPG’s entry onto this list is the best rucksack for the money. The Atlas 24 backpack comes with MOLLE compatibility and a dedicated compartment for a hydration reservoir.

The pack has a similar setup to the 5.11 rush series with hydration ports on either shoulder.

This ruck will hold whatever you decide to use as a weight, from plates to bricks. Do not let the price fool you. The Atlas Pack is seriously durable. This backpack has every feature of its more expensive counterparts at almost half the price.

Another cool aspect of this ruck is the ability to add a chest pack to carry more gear. This bag is great for more than just rucking and will quickly become your go-to go-bag.

This ruck is easy to set up as well. You simply slip your ruck plate in the laptop compartment and then set up your hydration bladder in the main compartment. The great thing about the back compartment is the rigid backplate. It keeps your weight from smacking into your back.

Pros

  • Functions of a premium pack, half the price
  • MOLLE System
  • Budget-Friendly
  • Dedicated hydration bladder compartment
  • Excellent storage capacity

Cons

  • No YKK Zippers
  • No external frame

5. CVLIFE Tactical Backpack Military Army Rucksack – Budget Friendly

CVLIFE Military Tactical Backpack 40L Army Rucksack 4 Day Assault Pack Molle Bag …

The CVLIFE Tactical Backpack Is your basic bare-bones rucksack. This military-style backpack comes with MOLLE compatibility and a dedicated compartment for a hydration reservoir. This bag comes with detachable smaller bags.

This ruck will hold whatever you decide to use as a weight, from plates to bricks. This is an entry-level rucksack for people that wish to try rucking but do not want to commit the money on a more dedicated setup.

At a sub 30 dollar price point it is expected that this bag will encounter some durability issues. However, it is hard to beat for its price in terms of storage and versatility.

Pros

  • Sub 30 Bucks
  • MOLLE System
  • Budget-Friendly
  • Dedicated hydration bladder compartment
  • Excellent storage capacity

Cons

  • Durability issues
  • No external frame

6. REEBOW GEAR Military Tactical Backpack – Budget Friendly 3 Day Pack

REEBOW GEAR Military Tactical Backpack Large Army 3 Day Assault Pack Molle Bag Backpacks…

The REEBOW GEAR Military Tactical Backpack comes in tan khaki or charcoal black. What’s great about this rucksack is that it’s made to suit all kinds of outdoor activities due to its generous 34 liters capacity, such as rucking, trekking, camping, and woods hunting.

The high-density fabric also works as a tough barrier between the backpack’s contents and water, which gives the backpack a good level of water resistance. This makes this backpack a wonderful choice for anyone who is going on a trip in a rainy forest or wet area.

In addition to the thick fabric, the backpack also has double stitching along every lining of the backpack for extra fortification. This protects the backpack from all kinds of tears and cuts in harsh environments.

When it comes to versatility, this backpack shows an example of what a modern tactical backpack should be. The backpack is loaded with lockable sections each with its large zippers.

Moreover, REEBOW GEAR’s rucking backpack also has a MOLLE system, which allows for extra pouches and gear to be attached to the rucking backpack. Consequently, that can easily turn this small backpack into a full camping and survival unit.

The tactical rucksack also features an easily accessible designated container that can fit a 2.5 liters hydration bladder. However, the hydration bladder isn’t included with the backpack and needs to be purchased separately.

The most amazing thing about this rucking backpack is that it didn’t sacrifice its comfort for its high durability and workmanship.

The backpack has a front and side-loaded compression system coupled with a ventilated mesh padding in the back and shoulder straps to allow for comfortable long-distance marches.

Pros

  • Durable high-density fabric and double stitching
  • Water-resistant
  • MOLLE System

Cons

  • The zipper tassels fall off easily
  • The buckles aren’t as durable as the rest of the backpack

10 Things to Keep in Mind While Shopping for a Rucking Backpack

While searching for your ideal rucking backpack, there is a lot of aspects to consider to land your perfect pick. Here’s our top 10 checklist for a great rucking backpack.

Materials

The first thing you should be considering while searching for your rucking backpack is its material.

Rucking backpacks are made of several materials, such as polyester, nylon, and normal fabrics. However, nylon and fabrics are much more durable than most polyester bags in terms of tear and abrasion resistance.

Since polyester bags are usually cheaper, some manufacturers make military design polyester rucking backpacks. These bags usually tear under high loads, which can be highly problematic if you’re out in the wilderness.

Regarding nylon, you should always opt for durable grades of nylon such as 500 Denier Nylon or higher. However, if you’re going for a polyester bag, it should be at least 600 Denier to withstand heavy loads.

Weight

Whether it’s the backpack’s net weight or the maximum weight it can carry, the weight is a game-changing factor that’s usually overlooked by many people. If you’re going to carry a rucking backpack, this means that it’ll be filled with loads of heavy items.

This makes lightweight rucksacks a much better option since you can only carry too much. However, an excessively light backpack can sometimes be an indicator of its low durability and poor endurance of heavy loads.

This is why the best strategy to follow while checking a rucking backpack weight is to make sure that it’s neither too heavy nor too light. This can grant you a durable rucking backpack while not being cumbersome to carry on its own.

Backpack Capacity

Backpacks’ capacity is usually estimated by their volume. This means that the backpack’s capacity can be measured in liters.

If you’re rucking or going on a trip, the size of your bag can either make it or break it. Show up with a larger than needed backpack and you’re going to carry its burden along the whole trip.

Similarly, having a small rucking backpack can be extremely inconvenient if you’re planning on a long hike.

Generally, any rucking backpack with a volume between 15 to 25 liters is good enough for a short trip. A range of 25 to 40 liters is a good volume for a day hike without camping.

However, if you’re planning on a long trip with camping included, you’re going to need a larger bag that can reach up to 60 liters depending on how much equipment you’re going to bring with you.

Water Resistance

What’s the point of a rucking backpack if it isn’t going to protect your electronics from an unexpected downpour?

Although it’s almost impossible to get a fully waterproof backpack without paying an arm and a leg for it, a good rucking backpack is going to have some sort of waterproof compartments for your electronics.

Another important thing to mention regarding full waterproofing is the breathability tradeoff. Even if you managed to find a reasonable price full waterproof backpack, don’t expect any kind of aeration inside the bag.

The best compromise here is either going for semi-waterproof rucking backpacks that offer a waterproof compartment for your electronics or protecting your electronics by yourself in a waterproof cover such as plastic bags.

Padding, Belts, and Straps

It goes without saying that if you’re going on a trip, you’re doing all the carrying. That’s why it’s highly important to choose a bag with comfortable and thick foam padding for your back and shoulders.

This won’t only help you stay comfortable, but padded shoulders enable you to lift even higher loads in the process by easily distributing the pressure across your body.

Similar to padding, belts are essential for extra security and better weight distribution while rucking.

Although they’re optional, it’s always great when a rucking backpack offers all kinds of belts and straps such as hip, sternum, and waist straps. You can then use the belts that provide you with maximum comfort and support.

Zippers Durability

Even the best rucking backpack is rendered useless when its zippers are broken or malfunctioned.

Rucking means marching long distances where dirt, water, and gravel is everywhere. Walking around these items with weak zippers is a recipe for an inevitable disaster.

That’s why having big sturdy zippers is something that should always be on your radar while looking for your ideal backpack for rucking.

Double Stitching

Similar to the backpack’s material, polyester stitching is one of the worst things you can go for when buying a backpack for rucking. It’s very weak compared to nylon stitching.

Heavy loads in backpacks cause a lot of strain on your stitching, which can end up tearing it. This is why you should go for backpacks with double stitching whenever possible.

Frame Sheet or Body Support

For extra fortification and maximum protection to the bag’s contents, it’s always better to go for a bag with a frame sheet or body support that retains the bag shape and prevents excessive shakiness while walking for a long distance.

Compartments and MOLLE compatibility

One of the most trendy aspects of rucking and tactical military backpacks is the MOLLE system.

MOLLE stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment, where backpacks offer different designated and undesignated pouches for various common rucking and hiking gear.

Hydration Pack Compatibility

Coming from experience, it’s always better for your rucking backpack to have an

easy-access external slot for water bottles.

Going on a long trip means you’ll need to stay hydrated. Although you can always throw your water bottle inside your backpack, the fact that you have to stop just to take out your bottle can easily discourage you from drinking.

Being dehydrated can be remarkably dangerous if you’re alone or far from modern society, as it can quickly get you disoriented and confused.

The Verdict

Rucksacks have seen lots of modifications and additions throughout the years. From sturdy new materials such as nylon to extra storage capacity such as the MOLLE system.

This is why if I was thinking of a winner for this round, I’d pick the 5.11 Tactical RUSH 72. From enormous capacity to extremely durable nylon and MOLLE compatibility, it has everything I need in a rucking backpack.

If you are in the market for a purpose-built rucksack or are preparing for entrance into the military then I would go with the MT Molle II Large Rucksack Assembly(OCP).

However, if you’re on a budget, then the LAPG Atlas 24 can get the job done without poking a hole in your wallet. This pack gives you the most value for your dollar and almost beat out the Rush Series by 5.11. Coming down only to personal preference.

The Direct Action Dragon Egg is an amazing rucksack alternative to the GR1. For us its a tough choice between the Rush 12 and the Dragon Egg. Both rucksacks have more rucker friendly features than the GR1.

The GR1 has a supportive backplate that keeps your ruck plate from bashing into your back, it also has a dedicated hydration bladder compartment with a drain hole in case of leaks.

The 15 inch laptop compartment is able to handle your ruck plates and the main compartment has plenty of room for bricks or books if you are not using a ruck plate. The compression straps keep the load close to your back

The Egg also has plenty of integrated Molle straps and additional storage area's that make this a perfect EDC bag in addition to a Rucksack. The last feature we wish to talk about is the hip strap. The integrated hip straps provides additional support and comfort when rucking.

The 5.11 Rush 24 Backpack is the middle child of the Rush family. This pack is made for people that want more room and storage pockets than the Rush 12. It is also a great analog to GORUCK's GR2.

The Rush 24 has all the same features as the GR 2 at more than half the price. 5.11 is one of the most trusted tactical brands on the market. The only thing you miss out here is the Lifetime warranty. But, I have used this pack as my go to ruck for over 5 years and it's still going strong.

What do you gain? More molle straps, additional compartments for organization, and compression straps to hold that load closer to your body. This is a true tactical bag that can function as more than just a weekend rucker.

The best thing about this bag is the shoulder straps. They hug your shoulders and help evenly distribute the load.

This bag is great for camping, hiking, fishing, and hunting. It is a little large for EDC, but great if you are college bound and have to lug around a lot of books.

The Sandpiper of California Long Range Bugout Backpack is a big bag. This is the ruck you go with if you want to stuff days worth of supplies into it and get away.

This pack is a great alternative to a GR2 in terms of size and price. The bag is just a little bigger in the right places to make it carry a lot but not take up much more room.

This pack comes with Sandpiper's lifetime manufacturing defect warranty. This backpack has lots of organization options, compressions straps, and many features you will find in common with many packs on this list.

However, the best attribute about this ruck is its hip belt. Yes BELT, not strap. The Long Range Bugout comes with a nice wide and fully padded hip belt.

Sandpiper of California Long Range Bugout Backpack (Black, 26x15.5x10.5-Inch)

The only thing that keeps this pack from greatness is the lack of a plastic back plate. So this is a ruck I would not recommend putting a plate in unless you take some pool noodles and pad the edges.

With this much capacity you wont need a ruck plate you could throw whatever you wanted in as weight. And the pack has internal straps to secure that weight firmly in place. Check out our article on Making Your Own Ruck Weights for more information.

The LA Police Gear Atlas 24 is almost to good to be true. But it is. For less than 60 dollars on average, you can get yourself a true tactical bag that has all the features of the GR2 and the Rush 24.

LAPG make the list again with the Atlas 24. The Atlas 24 has larger capacity over the GR2, more Molle capability, additional pockets and organization. It has a waist belt which the GR2 does not and features compression straps to keep whatever you carry close to your person.

This bag also has integrated hydration with ports on either shoulder. There are drain holes in the bag in case your bladder ruptures.

This bag is durable and will withstand years of rucking, camping, hunting, or any outdoor activity you wish to engage in.

As with the Atlas 12 earlier on this list, you can attach an optional chest pack to this pack as well. You can not go wrong with LAPG products in terms of price and quality.

The Condor Orion Multi-Mission Modular Assault Pack is a fantastic modular backpack. Or I should say backpacks. You get two in one.

This three day assault pack has a removable sling bag as well as two additional side pouches. The pack also features an integrated rain shield and molle webbing for customizability.

You will be able to carry a 3 liter hydration pack and the Orion has port holes on each shoulder to run your drinking tube through.

What really makes this pack shine is the internal retention straps. You will have no trouble securing your ruck plates or whatever you are using as weight.

The drawback is the laptop compartment. It is located in the smaller bag. I like putting my ruck plates in my bags laptop compartment. However this is offset by the retention straps.

Pad your weight and make sire its as close your back as possible and you are good to go.

The CVLIFE Tactical Backpack is the barebones budget alternative to the GR2. This is the ruck you want to look at if your just starting or just cant afford anything better.

I would suggest springing for the LAPG Atlas (listed above) over this ruck if you can afford it. However, if you are looking for the absolute cheapest passable rucksack, then the CVLIFE Backpack will suffice.

This pack will fit your hydration bladder and the laptop compartment is large enough to hold your ruck plate. There are ports for your drinking tube on either side.

This pack does not have a hip belt, however it does have bottom lashing straps so that you can attach an Aftermarket Hip Belt.

The 5.11 Rush 72 Backpack is the largest of the Rush series. You can fit whatever you could possibly need in this bag. The Rush 72 is feature rich.

It has all the features of its little brothers with the edition of a stuffer area on the back with retention straps to hold your gear close.

The GR 3 finally competes here with retention straps and a hip belt. However, the Rush 72 has more compartments, even a purpose built CCW are with the ability to attach your holster on the inside. This is a true EDC bag.

Another thing the Rush 72 has over the GR3 is the back plate. The Rush 72 has a metal rib shaped to provide lumbar support. This bag provides support second only to an external frame backpack.

If you are considering a pack as large as a GR3 then you must plan on carrying more than a ruck plate. Maybe you are going to use this going backpacking, or other non rucking uses.

That is the key point of this bag over the GR3. It is useful for more than rucking and training and better suited to do these tasks. A big bag is nothing without organization and you will be hard pressed to find a better rucksack than the Rush 72 by 5.11.

Why Should You Get The 5.11 Rush 72 Backpack Over The GORUCK GR2?

Why are we listing the Mt Filbe Full Pack System? Not only is this system less than a GR3 but it is also capable of storage that the GR3 simply cant touch. This system is great for hauling over 100lb loads thanks to its external frame.

This pack system is designed to evenly distribute the weight along your body in a way internal packs can not. This pack can carry everything you need to be off the grid for awhile.

Not only do you have hydration compatibility, but you can carry 2 bladders. The system also comes with a full size backpack with shoulder and hip padding.

More space, more modularity, optional backpack and and external frame. These options are great for ruckers and backpackers. It is still less than a GR3.

This is a true ruck sack so no laptop compartment. This is the type of ruck you use if you are making sand pills or your own ruck weights.

The Condor 3 Day Assault Pack is fantastic. It has more of everything over the GR3. More capacity, more compartments, more molle. This pack has a fully removable and padded hip belt as well.

Do you want hydration? This pack can carry 6L of water. The compartment has room for 2 3L hydration bladders. This is a long haul pack designed to last you 3 days.

There is no laptop compartment, however the internal retention straps can help you keep your weight close to your back. Speaking of straps. The exterior of the 3 day assault pack has multiple handle locations. This is useful for using your ruck in workout routines.

Aside from Condor being a trusted tactical brand among the Armed Forces, this pack is also cheap. You can usually find one of these for under 100 bucks. With the GR3 almost 400 the only advantage here is the lifetime warranty. However, Condor offers a 12 month warranty against defects.

You could buy almost 4 condor packs for the price of 1 GR3.

The 5.11 Tactical AMP 72 Essential Backpack is a new design. The AMP (All Mission Pack) is designed to be the last bag you will ever need. This backpack takes modularity to the moon.

The pack itself is a standard bag. Large clamshell internal compartment and a Hex Grid molle compatible exterior. You also have a hydration bladder compartment and back plate.

What makes the AMP different is the Gear Sets. Gear sets allow you to customize your pack to your needs. Do you need pouches? Admin Pouch, shove it area for a helmet? Shove it gear set. You can attach these gear sets to the exterior of the pack and the interior.

The interior has the same system as the exterior so you can compartimilze your pack as you see fit.

So. You go rucking. You can take out all the compartments and fill your pack with weight and hydration bladder. Then when you are done, you can take the same bag to the office with out after you put your daily EDC back into it.

This is a bag that can fill any role. Rucking, Hunting, Camping, Hiking, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Yes you have to purchase gear sets separately but given this bag costs 50 percent less and replaces all your bags we think it is a bag you should consider.

The Sparklekle Military Tactical Backpack is your budget ruck comparable to to GR3. Just like the other budget rucks on this list we would suggest you go with a better bag like the Condor 3 Day listed above.

However if you are looking for the absolute cheapest and functional back pack for rucking then the Sparklekle is a good choice. For under 50 bucks you get a 45L backpack.

This backpack can carry your ruck plate and any supplies you may need during your ruck. It has the compression straps and chest strap like the GR3. But, the hip strap is, just that, a strap. It is not padded.

This pack will do the job till you can buy a better one.

Why Should You Get The Sparklekle Military Tactical Backpack Over The GORUCK GR2?

  • Cheap

  • Good starter ruck

  • You could buy almost 10 of these for the price of a GR3

What to Look For When Shopping For a Rucksack

These are our recommendations for rucksacks. These backpacks have the same and in most cases more than their GORUCK equivalents. However, you may want to shop around and pick your own perfect ruck.

We wanted to share the criteria we used to evaluate our choices for rucking backpacks. Hopefully this will aid you in making a smarty choice when picking your pack.

Shoulder Straps

A regular backpack is not what you want. Look for a backpack that has nice wide shoulder straps. This helps in weight distribution on your shoulders. The wider the shoulder straps the better.

These shoulder straps also need to be padded as well. This further reduces the strain on you. If you are using a hydration bladder it also helps to have molle webbing on the straps in order to attach your tube by feeding it through the straps.

Chest Strap

A chest strap is important because it brings the weight closer to your core. You want the weight as close to you as possible in order to improve comfort and reduce the chances of injury while rucking.

Amlrt Backpack Chest Strap- Nylon -Suitable for Webbing on The Backpack up to 25MM(Army Green)

Look for a chest strap that is sturdy. Many lower priced rucks will skimp on the chest strap buckle. If need be consider an aftermarket chest strap that can support the weight you want to carry.

Hip Padding

Hip padding is important for further helping to reduce strain on your body while rucking. Hip padding should be wide and able to hold the pack close to you. This more evenly distributes your weight.

The GR1 and GR2 do not include hip belts. And if you are looking at a bag that does not have one, at least look for molle near the bottom. This makes attaching a hip belt easy.

Laptop Compartment

Laptop compartments are great for rucksacks if you are using a ruck plate. These compartments are usually located near your back and provide the perfect place to carry the plate in. A laptop compartment keeps the plate secure and padded so it dosn't move around to much.

Integrated Hydration

Hydration is very important while rucking. We wouldn't ruck without some way to carry a decent amount of water.

When looking for a backpack for rucking, look for those that have a compartment for a hydration bladder and preferably with drain holes incase that bladder ruptures.

Integrated hydration should also include ports to feed your drinking tube through and a way to run it along your shoulder straps for easy access.

Modularity

Organization is important. If you are going out on a ruck you want to have your kit in its proper place. The GR series from GORUCK really suffers in modularity and organization. Most of the packs on this list have individual compartments for whatever you need to carry.

Even inside the main compartment you want pouches in order to store and protect your pack's contents. For example you want to keep any snacks in a pouch higher in the pack so it doesn't get crushed.

Conclusion

The GORUCK GR series are great rucksacks. Do not get me wrong, they are top notch in terms of quality and that lifetime repair and replace guarantee means you will never need another rucksack.

However, they are over priced in terms of features when compared to other options on the market. You will have to drop almost 400 dollars before you see a GORUCK GR with compression and hip straps included.

I would like to Highlight the LAPG Atlas series. These rucks are unbelievably priced, offer more features and are just as durable as a GORUCK.

The simple math is this. A GR2 costs 375. The Atlas 24 can be found for under 70 bucks. I could buy 5 Atlas packs for the price of 1 GR2.

Am I going to go through 5 Atlas 24 during the course of my rucking career to justify the price of a GR2 and its warranty? I don't think so.
